Title: Bar End sizing
Post by: ryanschoebel on December 23, 2018, 08:42:21 PM
Bit of a dumb question, but does anyone know the bolt size that is on the end of the bar ends? One of mine is cross threaded, and I need to replace the choke assy, and want to fix it with a helicoil or something similar before reinstalling.

Try re-tapping it before you use a heli-coil

those are long threads if they are just cross threaded at the beginning you might be able to save the original threads by carefully running you tap through them. even if the first few repaired threads are loose the inside threads would probably be enough to hold the handle ends on especially with blue locktite.

Good to know, thanks for the clarification! I think they are pretty messed up, but its worth a shot!
