I had a pretty exciting commute yesterday in some of the worst Bay Area fog in awhile. I have a squeegee on the thumb seam of my left glove, which is a life saver, but boy it sure is a sketchy deal trying to navigate traffic in fog without both hands on the bars. I also have a Pinlock on my Transitions Auto Darkening face shield, which I love, but fog on the outside is simply too formidable a foe, and must simply be wiped, repeatedly.

Wow, looks cool. A far neater system than some of the chunky ones I've seen online.
Yeah, the website says the latest version clips onto any face shield at the corners, and doesn't penetrate the seal. I have no issues with rain, only fog. There is just no alternative way to keep the outside of the face shield clear.

Try RainX
They also make FogX.
HJC offers a face mask that velcros to the chin bar that directs breath down

Pinlock beats all other methods for fog INSIDE the shield. I have had no issues regardless of how hard I breathe or where I exhale inside the helmet. If you haven't tried a Pinlock, you're missing the best anti-fog device there is.
This thread is about fog OUTSIDE.
Rain X works fine for fog on the outside.......as long as you're going over 70mph LOL
Seriously though, although it's not perfect, Rain X does seem to works better than anything else for keeping the fog droplets moving to and off the edges of my visor (less "wiping" to remove water).

Yes it does. I use it on my race car for rain races, and I've tried it on my face shield, but the speed required seems to be ill-advised in the fog. The squeegee edge on my glove has been the most effective, but it does get sketchy when you're maneuvering with one hand.
Gday,
I have been using the fog city inserts for years now and have never had issues with fogging visors.

I agree, I use the Fog City ProShield inserts on my Bell helmets. They work the same as the Pin Lock system. Rick is specifically talking about what to do when the fog is on the outside of the face shield. I made reference to riding in the fog at night on my recent trip to North Carolina in September. I will ride in the rain and below freezing temps. 2 conditions that are a royal PIA is heavy Fog and Fluffy Caterpillar size Snow Flakes. The damn snow sticks to your visor when it hits.
I would use one of these wiper systems if there was a guarantee that the wiper would not damage my transitions face shield.
Fred
Yeah Fred, I agree. The transitions Pinlock visor on my Shoie is up to $160 these days. I think my best bet is to just drive my truck to work on foggy days.
Here is their website.

That's very clever. As Rick has stated, many times I've had vision issues on the way to work while riding thru Fog City.
