Title: 1990's GSXR brake torque arm
Post by: aviationfred on December 01, 2018, 12:00:18 PM
For anyone that is planning to do the GSXR 17" rear wheel mod. I have a spare torque arm. This part is unavailable from Suzuki and can be difficult to find.

Make an offer including shipping cost.

Fred, does this arm attach to the center stand mount bracket?

No, it can attach to a long footpeg bolt, or you would need to remove the factory tab on the swingarm and re-weld it underneath.

Or use Riv-Nuts and bolt on a flange to the swingarm.

On my 89, I used a bolt and spacer. The foot peg bolt holes are threaded through the frame. Spray some carb cleaner in the hole and a bit of blue locktite on the bolt and it works perfectly. I had about 1/4 of an inch of bolt threads past the spacer. I want to say the bolt was 6mm dia.

As you can see, it uses the lower foot peg bolt hole.

Seeing Pete's post with the GSX-R rear wheels. Bump on this post. I still have this torque arm available.
