Living in Fly-Over Country, this is the land of the cruisers (think Harley Davidson). Mostly my bike has all cruisers for company in the parking lot at work. This morning, when I was leaving work, a beautiful late model FJR was parked next to the FJ.

I don't know who owns this one. Jeff Schneider is who we met at the Hub. He has an older 2nd gen FJR that is Black.

Its like father and son or most likely Grandad and granson, I wonder how our older J's size up to the expensive latest FJR, I guess it would pull away from Grandad with a full roll-on in 5th but what about 1-2-3-4, love both bikes.
I checked out the FJR's way back when at the San Mateo Motorcycle Show. I wasn't all that impressed with their appearance at the time. My heart still throbbed for a genuine FJ1100/1200. The more I see them in this forum and online, the more I'm warming up to their appearance. As many users have also experienced, my FJ gets approving looks and comments from riders on newer bikes. Even riders that weren't born during the eighties/early nineties seem to appreciate the old FJ's. Fred, I would bet that FJR owner admired your FJ.
I've got my eye out for a good low mileage 2018 FJR with the six speed, perhaps next year.
They are nice bikes, but....my FJ will flat out pull the wings off of any FJR (thank you RPM)
Besides, our FJ's are 100 lbs. lighter and prettier.
The lines on our FJ's make them one of the nicest looking motorcycles ever made, but that's just me.
The only reason I would consider a FJR is the hassle free fuel injection (and 6th gear, ok maybe the shaft drive)
However, if someone (hint) were to come up with a fuel injection solution for our FJ's, that would change things.
If I got a good low mileage Motus MST say for $22-25k I would not be taking a step backward from the performance of my current FJ....plus never have to adjust the valves again.

My brothers for is pretty quick. And a great machine. Super plush. But I feel totally disconnected from the road. I guess that's why. They call them supersonic sofas.

Pat, my birthday and Christmas are both coming up soon. If you can arraigned a dyno for a great birthday present or under the Christmas tree on Christmas morning, the project could get back to the front burner really quick...

Which model Dyno would you want? Would you want something that could also do your race cars? (not just motorcycles)

I do not want to limit myself to bikes or cars only, so the SAE type dyno is a must. It also must be a eddy current to allow for load tuning, inertia will not work as that is just of max HP numbers.

Looks like you would need an additional roller for the race cars. The 250ix is limited to 84" axle to front tire, is that long enough?

That is the one I am looking at. The other side of the exposed roller is under the cover on the ride side in the RJ ad. You take that cover off and you can run the car on it.
I figured I would just make a couple of extensions to accept the longer Thunder Roadster cars. The Legend car has a WB of 73" so it will fit without issue.
