Title: 86 1200 front guard wanted
Post by: jrobinson on May 31, 2018, 11:34:15 PM
g'day folks,
I'm doing a resto on a 1986 fj1200. the front guards are broken where the bolt holes are and the lower front section of the ram faring is cracked also. the lower section i can fix but the front guard is bad.May be i can fix it may be not. it would be a lot easier to put another good one on. i asked a couple of guys here in Australia who said i would not get a new one or even a good used one as they all broke in the same place as mine. any advise would be good or if you have a front guard for sale would be better..... well depends on where it is and cost, i guess. any way let me know. thanks Jim

I'm lost in the translation of your native language.

What are the front guards?
What is a ram fairing.

Does any of this have to do with the upper fairing, lower fairing or front fender?

He's saying the tabs on the front mudguards (fender) are broken, and the ram fairing would be the chin fairing under the engine.

I'll have a crack at this

Front guards = Front Fender
Ram fairing = Lower fairing
Boot = Trunk

G'day Jim, I have been looking for awhile now and haven't been able to find any, sorry
