Title: WTB: 88 and up FJ1200 front fender
Post by: outlaw4shrt on April 18, 2018, 10:38:31 AM
Hi,

I'm looking for a 1988 and up FJ1200 front fender if anyone has one.  I'm located in Pinehurst, NC but am willing to pay ship.

Thanks,

Adrian

Unfortunately, my spare front fender is for an '85 FJ1100

Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

They are all 84'+, just different colors. Its the muffler bearings you don't want to mix up.

But I read that the muffler bearings for cylinders 1 and 4 are interchangeable as are cylinders 2 and 3.

It was on the internet.

They are all the same?  Even with the early models having a 16" front wheel?  I'm actually looking to put the fender on a set of forks off of an 87 FZR1000 that I have on my XS1100.  Just going through pictures, it looks like the later model FJ1200's with 4 piston calipers and 17" front wheel use the same forks as the early FZR's.  That's great if they are all the same, do you have one of those?

Not sure if the forks are the same but they share the bolt pattern for the Blue/Gold dot calipers. If you have an FZR fork you might need an FZR fender.

...set of forks off of an 87 FZR1000 ...

IMHO caliper bolt pattern is same, but 1000 Genesis/Exup has 320mm front rotors and FJ has 298mm only, so pads will not sit on rotor properly.
Not sure, but I think that FZR 400/600ccm are using 298mm rotors
