I did not realise we had these in NSW, but we do :diablo:
We rode up to Orange today, I know, I know another short trip of 5/6 odd hours and 500k's but hey it was nice, heaps and heaps of bikes :yahoo: but found that there is one of these Average Speed, speed cameras (the sign says "safety" camera, but I ain't stoopid enough to fall for that) outside Bathurst, its starts about 25 or 30 k's outside Bathurst on the Lithgow side and ends just before Bathurst Airport. Darn thing works out your speed between the two points and decides if you got there too quickly and sends you a present if you did.
talk about the nanny state we will be as bad as Victoria soon :wacko2:

Up here we just rely on mother nature to limit our speed.
Between the cyclones and floods, most of our roads are ruined (http://s665.photobucket.com/albums/vv13/ren-dog/?action=view¤t=kennedydevrd.jpg) and
in some places there is no bitumen left at all. :negative:

I don't think Vic has any of these Average Speed cameras in operation - yet. They do have lots of other annoying toys (tax collectors) though. And today they announced a new "top cop" to look at and dole out criminal prosecutions for various infringements. That may not be so bad IF they actually concentrate on activities that kill innocents instead of speed which is easy to use to increase their revenue. They used an example of the woman who was 3x over the BAC limit with her infant in the car with her. Can you say "Reckless endangerment"?
Just gotta ride on the roads they don't patrol. :-)

I am glad you don't have them, after some research there are about 20 of them in NSW focusing mainly on heavy vehicle speeding, don't know if that applies to the FJ :lol:
I will give Victoria one thing, since my son moved there over 12 months ago it has slowed his driving down, something I could never do :gamer: :lol:
I sort of like the idea of the police going after people like the example you give, when I read it in the paper my genetic radar that pings when it see's the word "revenue" replaced with "safety" only went off very gently as opposed the majority of times went it nearly shakes my head off :biggrin:

Thanks mate, always enjoy the FJ, funny I have had it for over 7 years now and never get sick of it, I have had other bikes over the same period but they always get moved on because of some reason or another but the FJ looks like a keeper :dance2:
