Title: Help with Wheel Spacer Dimensions
Post by: fj1289 on January 06, 2018, 07:59:06 PM

Need a little help with a couple of measurements.  Need to know the length of the spacer # 14 (called a collar on the parts fiche).  Any year FJ will work for that part (except for ABS equipped).

Also need the length of the speed drive #12 (gear box on the micro fiche).  Looks like it will need to be 84-90 model - parts number changed after 90.

Putting together a front end for another race bike — 90 rim with 85 forks - shortened with anti-dive deactivated and no need for a speedo drive ...

mmm,i will get into my crawlspace tomorrow
i bet i have both those parts and can measure them
i also have the majority of a '92 that i broke a few years back
most of those parts could be had for free for pick up in Gypsum
let me know if you need anything, some '86 parts as well(same price)

Thanks Eric

I'll be fabbing spacers tomorrow - I'll be using some 3" free machining steel to make some heavy spacers.  Won't make a huge difference, but may help keep the front end down a little.

As we get the second bike together I may have a list of parts we'll need.  First I can think of - foot pegs and foot peg mounts?

Thanks - Chris

Chris,
I have a spare Collar spacer, and a spare Speedo drive.
I just had my hands on them a couple hours ago.

The Collar spacer measures 20mm exactly (or .788 inch)
The Speedo Drive measures 31.46mm (or 1.240 inch)

Eric,
You wouldn't happen to have the factory exhaust down-tubes from the '92 would you?
I am looking for a set.

Eric - thanks!  good without pics.  If you don't mind, I'll wait a bit (couple months?) and see if there is anything else we'll need.  I'd like to get it all in one trip!
