Hey everybody, I once stumbled upon a photo of a beautiful carbon fiber fuel tank for FJ's.
Does anybody know what I'm talking about? Is this some photo shopped gem or was it real?
Does anyone out there know if these are being made and available? I saw it once and now I
can't seem to find it, maybe someone can give me the scoop about this piece. It was really sweet.
Are you sure it wasn't a regular FJ steel tank with a hydrographic film transfer?
I'm not aware of an aftermarket CF tank for our FJ's...
Over the last 6 years of looking for FJ parts. I have come across 1 authentic carbon fiber part. A front fender set. It sold very quickly and I was not able to get any information about it.

I was thinking of fabbing up an aluminum tank for the turbo bike. To make room for the air cleaner.and making a carbon Kevlar shell. But I figured out how to put an air cleaner intake in the side panel. But it's doable.would take a huge amount of effort. And time. To me would only be worth it to work around a problem. Like where to put an air cleaner on a turbo. Or some how adding extra capacity for an endurance bike. Or if you just couldn't find one anymore. And would be insanely expensive. For an all carbon tank. But would be awesome. I did find an after market carbon tank you can get for a triumph speed cripple. Was actually pretty cheap @ $1399 on sale. When I just looked up carbon fiber tanks
Hey FJ-Heretic....I found the thread with the hydro-dipped steel tank....is this what you saw?

Yes, that's the one I saw. It was just a quick glimpse and didn't see it again.
I was just curious about the status. Oh well, it's back to an aluminum one.
