Title: Looking for kevlar riding jeans, and recommendations?
Post by: Pat Conlon on November 15, 2017, 01:04:06 PM
Drayko (or Draggin) Holeshot jeans look to offer the best protection....but jeeeze louise, $400 ouch.
https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/drayko-hole-shot-jeans (https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/drayko-hole-shot-jeans)

Draggin still makes their basic jeans with less kevlar coverage. https://tinyurl.com/y875blor (https://tinyurl.com/y875blor)

Back in 2015 our UK brothers did a review in Visor Down:  http://www.visordown.com/features/products/tested-kevlar-jeans-review (http://www.visordown.com/features/products/tested-kevlar-jeans-review)

Your thoughts are most welcome

Cheers

Pat,

I have just taken on the Scorpion product line based on the quality of the product when the salesman came by a few weeks ago.

They have two version of Kevlar lined riding jeans. The Covert Pro jeans @ $159.95 or the Covert jeans @ $119.95.

http://scorpionusa.com/products/apparel/mens-apparel/pant/pant-covert.html (http://scorpionusa.com/products/apparel/mens-apparel/pant/pant-covert.html)

I have not personally worn them yet, but the quality of the products brought here for me to see were really nice stuff.

If you are interested, please let me know.

Thank's Randy. Reading the reviews, it seems that these Covert Pro/Covert jeans have only a maximum inseam of 32" much too short for me.

Can you confirm this?

I would need a minimum 34" inseam or better, a 36" inseam

Thanks again!

Pat,

I have an inquired about this with our product rep. Their catalog states "standard inseam size 32 inches" but our rep said "They may be available in longer inseam." So he is checking into it and will get back too us.

Only if I wore the boots you wore, several years ago.....That was Classic :good:

What was it we called them? Moon boots? Something like that?

Your hair was not the first thing to go, so I was hoping it was your memory.

Klavdy's pal Boris has been touting Rhok jeans (http://www.bikeme.tv/index.php/still-rhok-ing-hard-rhok-kevlar-jeans-two-and-a-half-years-on/ (http://www.bikeme.tv/index.php/still-rhok-ing-hard-rhok-kevlar-jeans-two-and-a-half-years-on/)).

I know nothing about them, so this is not an endorsement.

Thanks Rossi, I'll look into the Rhok's... I like what I've read so far....although Rhok only offers 1 inseam size of 33" (which may be ok)

Good review on Web Bike World: http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-jeans/rhok-kevlar-jeans/review.htm (http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-jeans/rhok-kevlar-jeans/review.htm)

Strange I didn't see Rhok's listed in the UK Visor Down review.... must be something about Rhok being an AU company. (Jeans made in Pakistan)

Thanks again!

Well shit, FleaBay does not have my 34 size...message sent to Rhok USA

I really like my sliders. I get them from competition açc. They are now the only jeans I buy. They have cargo pants. Ect. Also have removable armor.

Thanks Dan, I went to the Competition Accessories website, but I didn't see "Sliders" listed.

I did find the Web Bike World review: http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-jeans/sliders-4-kevlar-jeans/ (http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-jeans/sliders-4-kevlar-jeans/)

I'll try to google...

Skymasters always wore some sort of riding jeans I recall --- you might PM him to see what he likes and has tested.

Pat,

Below is the reply from Scorpion.

"Right now no plans to make taller sizes, but if we get a big increase in demand we can always add them at a later date.

Our development team would need a significant demand though, because historically in the past when we introduced tall sizes, they ended up being disco ...

I'd just recommend sending me any and all requests so I can keep passing it on."

So it would appear 32 is all they will be making.

Ok, thanks for checking

They have Draggen jeans like Diane and I wear at the Road Riders in San Jose.  I know they have 34" and I believe they have longer...  Blue and black options.  I don't have the super fancy jeans, but I wear them to work in a jeans friendly environment with no problems and they're reasonably comfortable.  Even good for the occasional "That's why I wore my Kevlar jeans today..." joke.

Thanks Frank, who is "they"?

Yea, I'm looking hard at the basic Dragging jeans....not the $400 pair...

Pat,

Maybe take a ride up to San Berdu and take a look at the Kevlar jeans first hand. They carry multiple brands in multiple price ranges. Bonus is.....You can actually try them on and sit on a bike in their showroom too check how they feel in a riding position.

Really poor grammar, sorry.  "They" is Road Riders San Jose, a local shop.  My point was more that Draggen has your size I think.

Pat,

We have another brand that offers Dupont Kevlar that look like they may have your size. They offer a 35" and 36" inseam depending on waist. You can check them out when you get here.

Yea Fred, I walk into Chapparal Motorsports and immediately go into sensory overload. So much to see....
I could spend hours in that store.

Thanks again guys! I'll post a follow up review.
