Title: 3cv 1990 bottom shock absorber torque setting.
Post by: ELIMINATOR on August 29, 2017, 12:20:20 PM
Just put the Nitron shock back on the bike. Looking at my Haynes manual at the torque settings.

The top is obvious at 30 ft lbs, this bolt is clearly described as "upper pivot bolt nut".

But it then refers to "lower pivot shaft pin bolts @ 6.5 ft lbs, and "control unit mounting bolts" @ 11 ft lbs, I assume that the latter is the original fitment remote adjuster.

What torque do I apply to the bottom shock absorber mount? The manual then refers to '91 bikes, giving the torque for the lower shock @ 47 ft lbs, is this what I should be torquing my bolt at?

Torqued it up to 42 ft lbs. Struggled to get a spanner on the nut, otherwise the holt just span. Now trying to remove the spanner, jammed on the nut and trapped against the swinging arm.
