Title: Being single
Post by: pdxfj on March 25, 2010, 10:40:26 PM
How else can you kick back in your living room, work on a set of FJ carbs while watching Zombie movies on your big ass T.V.??

Yeah, gloat about it. Is that how you became single or your plan to stay that way? BTW, I don't see the bike in there, step it up a notch!

I've been single a long time... rebuilt an 85 XR600 in the living room, installed the Rekluse auto-clutch in my WR450 in the living room, twice. I currently have a Husky OR390 and an 74 Elsinore 250 in what could be the breakfast nook..... gotta keep them out of the weather!
I also clean and assemble/repair my guns in the living room.... and I've never shot the TV.

But that doesn't mean you don't want to shoot your TV.  God knows I want to shoot my TV ever since Sunday evening.

I have managed to work out the best of both worlds,  I have a decent TV in my garage to watch Zombie movies and clean my carbs and my wife in the house to cook dinner and some nightime fun.

I guess I'm not quite as lucky I have a good size tv, decent stereo (thanks Travis 398)
we mostly watch ON ANY SUNDAY 1 or 2, or our racing videos.
My wife is indoors, but not usally cooking my dinner (novel thought though) I'll try to work on that.
At least she stays out of my shop most of the time

Well I was married for 8 years and have been divorced for about 4 1/2 years now.  The neighbors think I'm weird enough already, and they'd likely go off the deep end if they saw me pushing a bike though the front door.   :wacko2:

Speaker is a Polk RT400.  I've had the system for a long time and things are a bit dated for a 5.1 setup but still sounds really good.

I don't mind being single.  Prospects are slim to none here as I no longer fit what Portland has turned into.

Anyone recognize the movie?  :)

Well when I was young and single I used to keep my bikes in my bedroom and all my tools! Nothing kinky mind - it's just the only place I had that my flatmates didn't spill beer and baked beans all over everything and "borrow" stuff permanently. 33 years married and I own the garage, Mrs Ned owns the kitchen - works very well thank you.

Well i'm married and about 14 years ago I overhauled our aircraft engine in the living room then hung it back on the plane and she test flew it.

Now that is what you call a trusting wife.

I had the carbs apart 2 weeks ago on the dinner table- after hours. Gone by morning except for the smell. Hard to remove that lingering evidence. Been together 18 years, she's used to it mostly. Only trouble now is setting a bad example for the kids!

                                                 Word

Guys, not to cause a war here, but I have got the best wife in the world.  When we met, our "dates" for months were repainting  and restoring a friends Jag XJ sedan, she worked at everything except for spraying.  We would go camping and she would do most of the packing and loading.  And unloading and setup.  She likes fishing, shooting and mucking about with nuts and bolts on our various projects over the years INCLUDING the FJ. And she picks up the tools!

When I was sick and bedridden for 30 days she took care of me, AND kept our business afloat, And the small car dealership that we worked for.  I have been sick for 6 years (just now recovering) and she has been a life saver, got a good job at a hospital to provide for us, and never complained.  Everything was about me, not her.  She went without so much and was right there for me always.  Last summer, we sold a truck.  She was the one that said it was time for me to get the FJ1200 I have always wanted, even though we did not know if I could ride.  Now that I am slowly getting better she is right there encouraging me and picking me up when I fail.

And now the coup de gras,  She likes, approves and encourage me with my beautiful 17 year old blond girlfriend. Seriously.  Really.  Not kidding.  (and she is typing this for me)  Lucky am I!

There was some big hoopla going on, with a bunch of political types that are not my favorites, all looking very happy.  I figure, If they're happy, I should not be happy ...

It's not the pot they care about, it's the revenue that they aren't getting from the sale of it.    :shok:
