Title: 3CV FJ1200 lower fairing.
Post by: crash7863 on August 06, 2017, 03:52:51 PM
Anyone got a line on replacement lower fairing? The one I got needs to be pretty much pieced together and patched with jbweld. I am wondering if any companies still have the molds to build replacement lower fairings. Am planning to paint myself.

There are fiberglass copies out there, RPM had some a while back but not sure if they still have them in stock. With my experience in ABS welding and more recent experience in vacuum forming I think they can be repaired for a low cost. If you still have most/all the pieces then a local plastic repair shop will get you sorted out.

The existing lower fairing appears to have been glued back together in the past. It's pretty sloppy and the glue binder isn't very strong. It would be best to just replace the lower fairing and reapply the heat tape inside a new fairing.

I checked RPM out, they have screws but no body work. :dash2:
