Limped home tonight with gf after a long ride, here's what i found.these plug wire boots are rediculious.why so complicated
Because they are solid core spark plug wires. The spark plug boot is the resistor in the system to remove electrical noise.
You got 31 years if service out of your original ones, time for a set of new ones.
Sorry working from my cell phone I can't post a link to the news ones right now.

I'll order new ones from ya Friday Randy.thanks
Are the ngk boots as good as the geniune Yamaha boots why such a price gap?
Partzilla was almost $10 cheaper for genuine Yamaha boots I ordered them.
Good deal, I do not have that Yamaha spark plug boot to offer.
I am selling the current XJR1300 Yamaha Spark Plug Boot (http://www.rpmracingca.com/proddetail.asp?prod=Ignition%3A5EL-87230-00) offered by Yamaha. I have attempted to order the part number Partzilla is selling and Yamaha superseded to this current stocking number.
Here are the current XJR1300 Yamaha Spark Plug Boot (http://www.rpmracingca.com/proddetail.asp?prod=Ignition%3A5EL-87230-00) and they are offered at a lower price than Partzilla for that part number: http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/yamaha/YP-5EL-82370-00-00.html
I have written the part number on my next order list to see if they will sell me the number you purchased on the next order.

Thanks Mike.
Availability is not a problem at RPM, I have plenty in stock.
As I already mentioned prior, I am stocking the current XJR supplied spark plug end.
