Title: JIS Screw Drivers
Post by: HydroDog on July 11, 2017, 01:32:54 AM
Hello,
I new to the forum but I did not see this topic here in a search.
A few years back I had been helping a long time friend work on his Japanese bikes and almost all the fasteners are JIS (Phillips) screws. An American #2 screw driver does very poor on the soft screws used on these bikes. I heard about these screw drivers and bought a #2 and #3 and have been very happy since.

I bought mine from a different supplier but I cannot find it anymore. He use to sell the ASHI Light tools also which are great for packing on a bike.

The search function on this forum, leaves a lot to be desired, and its shortcomings have been discussed numerous times before your arrival here.

It has been found that using Google to search for prior information here, and including the forums website (FJowners.com) name in Google's search field when doing so, is a better search tool for this site.

I found the following old post on JIS screwdrivers, using the Google search method.

This guy has them, apparently good quality as well.
I say apparently because I had just bought some prior to finding out about him.

Presently he's looking at producing bits for impact drivers as well.

You want JIS standard screwdrivers?
Pick up a copy of Motorcycle Classics and find the ad by Venhill. They stock them domestically. They even have a #2 impact JIS driver that could be very useful.
I really like my set. :good:
