My new to me FJ1100 in in need of a new chain and sprockets. Without pulling it all apart can someone tell me the sizes I need? I believe it has a 530/110 chain.

USA spec FJ1100's used a 17/42 combo. Yes, it uses a 530 chain but best to count the links (pins) on your old chain before you order a new one. Spending all that money and winding up with a chain that is one link short makes for a bad day. Make sure to use a quality (strong) chain. FJ's have been known to break cheap chains, with certain destruction of the engine following rapidly...

Thanks for the tip on the chain. I've found 530 chains all the way from $30 to $200. I figured I'd be in the mid to higher price range considering the claimed HP on my FJ1100. I've always had good luck with DID chains so I'm leaning that way but open to better value chain suggestions. If it were only me riding I wouldn't worry about breaking a chain. I'm 67 years old and have long since passed the "see what it will do" phase of riding. But my sons will ride it and I'm sure they will push it to the max.

Use DID ZVMX with a piece of mind. Buy one with rivet link or factory riveted (you will need to remove the swing arm to mount it, but it is probably time to grease all the pivot points).
+1 on the DID ZVMX chain. Use the DID chain tool to set the master link... quality tool.
