Title: 1992 fj1200 exhaust
Post by: FcWilson on May 29, 2017, 02:48:31 PM
Hi everyone I'm new to the site.

I have a complete stock fj1200 and have been wanted a 4-1  exhaust  for it. I was wanting a ss2-r but can't find one. I seen a marving 4-1 but it's out of my budget. So my question is what do you guys do when you want a 4-1 but can't find one?

Thanks.

A good Vance & Hines SS2r is difficult to find. Even the Vance & Hines Super Sport model is hard to come by. What part of the world do you hail from? Shipping is prohibitively expensive between certain areas. :empathy2: Since you mention Marving, I am going to assume Europe or Great Britain.

PS. A good post would be in the Introduction section and introduce yourself to all of us.

I'm in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. I've just done a lot of looking and found that marving brand.

I happen to have a Vance & Hines SS2r that came on my 1990 when I purchased it. You are close enough that a meeting half way may negate any shipping costs.

I see Fred has already offered up his V&H, but...

I have never heard of the Marving brand, but I offer a 4-1 system that has several benefits over the V&H system.

RPM S/S Exhaust System (http://www.rpmracingca.com/proddetail.asp?prod=RPMHeader)

The biggest benefit is you do not have to remove the exhaust system to drain the oil. I just did this exact thing last week: ARRGHHH (http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=16916.msg170677#msg170677)

The other major benefit is the RPM system is significantly lighter than the V&H, plus it sounds better too.
