Title: throttle cable routing on my '86
Post by: yaman on April 22, 2017, 06:34:04 AM
well, both manuals i have say the cables go over the frame here, they were routed under the frame rail before i disassembled
i installed new cables this winter and also fixed up my dashboard , i am concerned that the cables when routed over the frame will scuff the dash
the frame rail i am referring to is directly under the ignition key and has a small piece of orange tape on it for reference in the picture

I know it's not the same model generation, but on my '90 they go over the top of that frame bar.
That is the factory routing.
I would think if you routed them under, you might run into them binding at some steering angles.

G'day,

Awhile ago I uploaded some manual supplements, and there are detailed pictures of cable routing for all models.  The downloads are safe, and only around 1.5mb.  You should find what you are looking for in there...
