I got this shock today for my 86 FJ,my international are to have it rebuilt, good shock for the FJ?
It is better than the stock one for sure. If the rebuilding doesn't cost more than new one, go for it.
Question on a side note, 1100's shock fits to 1986 FJ 1200?
84-87 fjs are interchangeable.after 87 idk
88/89 are a different length and the 92+ are also different length.
I purchased one from a member here he had ohlins rebuild it and then... Realized it was for an 84-87. And he had an 89? If I remember right. It's going on the fj1350r when I get around to putting the 92 R1 swingarm on it.
It'll be headed to Indiana tomorrow for a inspection and hopefully a rebuild,I've got a rebuild kit for my forks coming however I'm holding off on front fork springs till I get a recommendation on what kind to install

As from my earlier question on this topic: progressive if you don't have any emulators or valves. Straight rate ones if you have any of these installed.

I have had one on my 87 for over 20 years. I had it rebuilt once and had them install a longer preload adjuster line. The spring that came with the shock was to soft . I have an Eibach installed.
Good shock but I wish it had more adjustability
On my repair form I submitted.i requested a longer damper line.for ease of mounting
