I started on this bike back in October. I made a lot of progress, but now I am in a lull waiting for the painter to schedule time and other parts parts to show up. It may sacrilege, but I powder coated the frame black. The bodywork will be yellow with black trim and black decals. I have two stock bikes, so I thought I would try something different. I have spent most of the time prepping the body work. I experimented with some repair techniques and I think most came out pretty good. I came across a good lower fairing and pulled a mold off one side and repaired two fairings with it. Hopefully it will be back together by May.
Slow progress. Finished by May is not going to happen. I am having some problems getting parts back from vendors and painters. I did finally get the front wheel back. It took a long time, but the repair looked good. Then the wheels were sent off for powder coating. More down time. Wheels are back, the brake parts installed. I did a test run up and tuned the new carbs this weekend. The frame is ready. I just need to get the body work painted. The yellow on the wheels is going to match the bodywork. Hopefully it will be finished by July.
Nice project man! This is going to look awesome!
:D
Finally finished! It is only 1 1/2 years behind schedule, but here it is.
Wow that looks awesome. Nice job
Yah don't like yellow. But that is an exception. I kinda like yellow now.

I think a yellow FJ with the retro Yamaha racing speed block design on the tank would look very nice.

That was my first idea, but I could not come up with any decals that satisfied me. I bought several samples and they just would not work for me.
Your hard work has paid off. Absolutely stunning :drinks: :good: :hi:

Reminds me of the old RZ 350 paint schemes. Looks good!
