This is a preview of a modification post once I get the parts. I ordered a gauge package from Speed Hut today. 4 gauges displaying 5 indications.
I will lose the digital clock in the fuel gauge, but, I can set the speedometer display to Mileage and clock, problem solved.
The faces are cream colored and at night will glow an off white. About a 2 week wait for them the be manufactured.
Photos to come as I receive them and get them installed.
Fred
OK Fred, I think I've finally got this figured out......
You're doing the whole smoke and mirrors thing with the "titanium dogbones" teaser and the new gauge cluster....
to hide the fact you are fabricating a TITANIUM FRAME!!!!!

Fred,
Looks fine, Fred. Too many gauges out there getting old, we need new instruments like these. Thanks.
Cheers,

When I placed the order, sadly the 'Kookaloo' was left off of the tachometer... :shok:

Just put it between the gauges like I did.
Very niced indeed. :good2: Just want to verify that the speedometer is GPS based. Rich

Yes, the speedometer is GPS driven. No need for the axle mounted speedo drive, or a magnetic pick-up and cable. A perfect fit for the USD fork conversion. The small LCD screen has the ability to display a variety of information.
Fred
Very nice, Fred. Looks like you will have all the important info displayed. I love the combo volts/fuel gauge.
You might want to mount a dimmer in the gauge lighting circuit. On a dark country road, on full bright, those white gauges will look like flashlights shining in your face.

^^^Exactly
In talking with Fred over the phone yesterday, I was surprised to learn that Speed Hut did not offer red back lighting, only white or blue.
I was reading the speed hut can match any colour of your original dash so if you only replace one gauge
it wont look out of place. I also thought I've read that the gauge pack is shipped with a dial dimmer
so you not blinded by the light.
Im going to be placing my order in a few weeks soon as the last of my snow removal money comes in along with a new shock.
that I still have no idea what to buy :flag_of_truce:
Fred Im hopping your going to post some step by step instruction of how the install goes. Your posts are always very helpful and thorough.
On my gauges the water temp is going to be replaced with oil temp.

I have had my oil temp gauge on the right hand side panel for awhile, so it never dawned on me to contact Speed Hut and check to see if they could make an Oil Temp/Fuel gauge. If Speed Hut is able to do that. It may be a good alternative for folks who may not necessarily want a volt meter.
Fred
When I email speed hut I was told they can substitute pretty much any request we
Would have.
I would love a working fuel guage again and oil temp.
Seemed like the best for the duel guage.
Their was a guad aption but the guage looks very busy
And harder to read with out reading glasses
Shit I'm getting old ! Need to get this done
Before I replace the FJ with a walker omg.
Really looking for ward to seeing how your install goes.
I've been reading that it's pretty straight forward.
Speed hut seems to be very helpful. And tons of choose

Bob,
A word of caution for the 1100, I believe I read from Mark Lowe's (Urban Legend) that there was an extra bit of modifying required due to the slight difference in the clear cover shape compared to the 1200.
Here is his write up http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=14375.msg145129#msg145129 (http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=14375.msg145129#msg145129)
Here is the thread from the files section that goes into great detail for the install of the Speed Hut GPS speedometer http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=12192.0 (http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=12192.0)

I believe that when you order a gauge package. (4 or more gauges) a dimmer dial that can be mounted is included free of charge.
To verify this, I asked in an email if my order would have the dimmer dial included and I was told that I would receive one.
Fred
***Update*** The gauges shipped out of Utah on Friday with a scheduled delivery date of Wednesday.
A modification post will be coming soon. :yahoo:
