Title: Black coating on pipes
Post by: chiz on January 23, 2017, 09:21:46 AM
Hello all and happy Monday
Just wondering if someone knows if the black coating on the exhaust pipes can be removed with vapour blasting rather than with abrasives. Thanks

Do you mean dry ice blasting?

I would think that media blasting (media and pressure TBDs), would be the cheapest route. If looking at ceramic coating or similar, ask the applier about how to go about the old coating's removal.

Vapor blasting leaves the nicest finish I have seen. It will strip that black paint.
