Better say 'Hi', I suppose...
I first got an FJ, a 3CV model ('89), in the fastest White/Red/Silver colour scheme, back in 1999. I decided I wanted something with a bit more 'go' than my CX500...
Kept that for 18 months or so, but decided I really wanted something more suited to the small back roads around where I live in the Lake District, so got hold of a BMW R1100 GS (Hence my forum name...), and sold the FJ a few months later.
Then, whilst returning from what waqs supposed to be a silly 24hr return trip to Paris, the gearbox on the Beemer blew an oil seal, and deposited its oil all over my rear wheel en-route to Calais.
I got it home by somewhat dubious means, but the gearbox re-build took a long time, especially as I lost interest. Meanwhile Linda, my best mate, had got herself a Honda CBF1000, and was constantly regaling me with stories of her ride-outs, so something had to be done. I had a look on eBay, and found a nice looking 3CV, same colours as my last one, which I got for £645.00 ($785.00). And we're still together. Both me and the FJ and me and Linda.
I've done a few mods on it, it had 'Blue Spots' fitted when I got it, but the discs were shot, so I fitted some nice wavy ones on the front, and a spare cast iron one that came with the 'bike on the back. A new seat was found on eBay, then a new pair of wheels, FZR1000 Genesis for the rear, and FZR 1000 EXUP for the front. Which totally transformed the handling, especially when shod with Continental 'Road Attack 2' tyres. It was about his time that I also did the '4o' mod.
The next major mod was a Hagon rear shock, as I'd decided that the then 25 year-old original was overdue for retirement. This was followed by a pair of 'Beowulf' silencers (mufflers), also from an FJR, just got the different connector pipes. And a few months back I fitted a set of master cylinders from an FJR, which have done the same for the brakes and clutch as the wheels did for the handling. Oh, and I fitted braided hoses at the same time, as well as having a double 'fat plate' mod done to the clutch.
So that's about me and my FJ, christened 'Snowflake' by Linda, up to the present. I would tell you my age, but I simply refuse point-blank to accept that I'm 62 in four weeks' time... :shok:
Next plans for the FJ are a complete suspension set-up from Randy, followed by a three-week trip to Norway in June, then a strip-down and re-build, including re-spray in original colours over next winter. Along with an oil cooler and spin-on filter conversion from Randy.
Right, that's enough about me and the FJ for now, it's 02:10 hrs over here, I'm knackered, and off to bed.

Welcome to the forum :hi: . You will fit in just perfectly. I will have to agree with you, that Snowflake has the perfect paint scheme.

o mod on here somewhere, or was that on Alf's site?
There was some debate over here in UK about 4 or 5, so I opted for 4 initially. Might get round to opening it up the other degree at some point...

Big Brit welcome to the greatest forum on the web for FJs. I too am a Brit, but now live in California. I once rode the Lake District on a Honda VFR750, so know it's a top spot for riding, weather permitting.
