Title: A couple of smaller mods to my FJ1200
Post by: bartzld on December 12, 2016, 01:10:25 AM
I bought my 1989 FJ1200 early this summer and had a lot of fun with it. I wasn too happy with the brakes, so I installed the blue dots with FZ master. What an improvement was that! Now the winter is coming and I want to take the time to make some other mods. This is my list:

17 inch GSX rear wheel
FJR clutch master
12 volt/usb socket (and replace the bulbs in the dash)
heated grips

Do you guys (and girls) have any suggestions with these mods? or any aother usefull mods?

Thanks in advance
Bart

Today I started to dis-assamble the fairing to replace the light bulbs in the dashboard and make a USB and 12 volt socket. I made some pictures

Make sure your USB socket is 2.0 AMPs or more, running GPS and bluetooth on a smart phone can tax the charging rate. Heated grips are nice.

Thanks for the advice. I found a 2.1 amp marine socket. Looks not too bad. I wired it via the switched 12 volf from the ingition switch.
