This happened today, looks like the FJ will get it's post Manshed trip clean this weekend after all (instead of riding).
In 130,000km this is only the second thing that has failed on the road, the first being a broken lug on the carrier rack, neither one stopped me completing the journey nor were they bike parts. I will order both sides to be sure.
For those of you that have Delkevics, don't panic, they have done over 100,000km and the mufflers are as sound as the day I fitted them and look just as good.

Is there a way you could reduce the cantilever stress on that clamp by relocating it further back, like Paul did here:

Good thought Pat and one I originally considered when fitting them but the join from the intermediate pipe to the muffler is such that there is no cantilever effect. I think it probably stems from bending the tab too far to get the alignment I wanted.
