Title: Newbie from Kansas
Post by: Shaarth on November 28, 2016, 10:57:40 AM
Greetings fellow FJ1200 rider's. Been riding since 1964. Went through a lot of different types of bikes. Always wanted an FJ1200. I didn't know enough about FJ1200s And I ended up buying a 1989 FJ1200 that needs some tender loving care. Had I joined a little earlier I would of went a slightly different direction. I am enjoying reading of the enormous amount of information on hand. I hope be able to ride it before snow. I currently own 2000 Vmax,1996 BMW K1100rs,XS1100 project, TL100r project. And of coarse my new prize FJ1200. This bike has so much potential. Good power, decent handling, comfort, simplicity and beauty. Look forward to many years of enjoyment. LOVE YA.

Welcome Shaarth,

No need for buyer's remorse, '89's are good bikes....good bones as they say.

Let us know if we can help you.

Cheers  Pat

Welcome.
I look at it this way. If you like it, and are happy with the price, then there is nothing wrong. I'm personally getting ready to get my first FJ1200. It's only taken me 30+ years. lol My fun is getting the stuff I like that needs to be fixed back up (as long as it's not trashed, been down that road recently. Not fun). Gives me a chance to get it for a good price, and make it the way I want it with out feeling bad.

Welcome to the forum  :hi:

It was wonderful to meet you the other day. Finally....... another FJ owner in a city of 400,000 in the middle of nowhere. :yahoo: :drinks: :dance2:

With the shape your FJ is in at the moment, there should not be buyers remorse. You have found a good looking example. And I know that I have the spare front fender halves somewhere. :pardon:

There is a FJowner locator that is completely voluntary. Pin yourself at your location. It also helps with knowing if there are other FJ owners near by, on a travel route or near a destination during a persons travel.
