Hi Guys ! :flag_of_truce:
Has anybody ever thought about using a FJR 1300 2002 front fairing on a FJ 1100 ? Is it even Possible with some effort ?
Has even somebody tried to use the rear of the FJR 1300 on a FJ1100 ?
To combine that : Has anybody ever used anything from the FJR 1300 on the FJ 1100 ?
I hope someone was that crazy enough ;) :good2:
Thank you !
Yes, some folks have put the FJR goodies on their FJ's
Some have the FJR throttle bodies and fuel injection system on their FJ's.
I have a FJR clutch master cylinder on my FJ...Some have the FJR front brake master cylinder on their FJ's.
Many of us use the FJR diaphragm clutch spring (less money than the FJ spring, but same spring)
That's about it.
To my knowledge one has put any FJR bodywork on their FJ.
Probably because, compared to the FJ, the FJR is butt ugly, and has the drag coefficient of a barn door.
Pat has covered what is common FJR fare on the FJ.
Most fairing mods that I have seen done have been smaller fairings. With some welding skills and othe minor body work adjustments, I believe that you could get a 1st gen or 2nd gen FJ1200 fairing to work on the 1100. The main thing is....you would have to use the 1200 forward subframe. And ALL of the 1200 fairing parts, instruments, and shrouds.
I can pretty much count on nobody doing the rear/swingarm swap....mainly because the FJR is shaft drive. I know of chain drive conversions that have been done on The Vmax, but I have never heard of any model going from chain drive to a shaft drive.
