So today I found myself with a bit of free time so I figured I'd give fudge12 a bit of love. The other day I ran my hand across the gas tank and it was not just dirty but gritty. Ugh. Only way to fix that was to spend some time with a clay bar, followed by rubbing compound, followed by polishing compound, followed by wax. Looks much better now, whiter whites and brighter brights and all. Since that took less time than I expected, I went ahead and slotted my rotor to advance the timing a bit. Simple like pie, but haven't ridden it yet to see if it does anything. Finally I decided to build up the metal on the kickstand a touch. When the kickstand is retracted, it has a limit stop that controls how high it retracts. mine was a bit worn and the kickstand was almost touching the left footpeg. Since I decided I'd probably be lowering the footpegs soon, it seemed like a good time to adjust this. Also simple like pie, remove the bolt holding the kickstand on, remove the kickstand, wire brush off the nasty and lay a nice fat bead of weld on the contact area. Once it cooled I ground it down to fit, and repeated till I got the kickstand where I wanted it. Now I have plenty of room under the footpeg.
