Welcome aboard Morpheus.
As a first check, have you gone thru the fuses near the battery box?
Is the stop/run switch on the rh switch cluster in the run position?
Sound like you are going to need to check a few things with a multi-meter.
Going to need answers to those b4 going any further.

Morpheus, welcome.

check the side stand switch , are you getting a neutral light? , does the  headlight come on with the key in the on position? sometimes the start button sticks and must be cleaned.
remove your spark plugs and make sure no fuel has leaked into the cylinders or you  can bend a rod.

We checked everything with the multimeter and we think it may be just the starter. I think the head light might just be burned out it sat for it seems like a few years outside with no cover. It also fell onto its right side at some point and the guy who owned it was keeping it outside his old job so who knows how long it stayed that way before someone picked it up there is acid damage to the driver pegs and the chrome around that. Its not the side stand switch and we get all lights just not the headlight. Thanks for the help

I'm going to elaborate on Mark's post: make sure the "start button" is not stuck in halfways.  Disassemble the switch housing and clean the contacts there - or try pulling it out with your finger.  Even if the button moves a little - it could still be causing this.  You symptoms are exactly the same as this long documented problem.  Just saying to double check it.

At this point I would pull all body part off the bike so you can access every part of the wiring harness and connectors. Go get a new bulb for the headlight and some electrical contact cleaner and clean every connector from the frame grnd to turn signal and check harness for any cuts & pinched wires. If it sat outside in the elements for any length of time the connectors could have gotten corroded.

Also on your '92 the first thing you should hear when you turn the key to on is the fuel pump running.

Thanks Mike  I've try'ed a new fuel pump (R-6 pump ) still nothing.all the fuses look good, new switch gear, I did the blue wire( jumper to ground ) on the starter relay and got the motor to turn over nothing is broken ( rods/noise ) this is supposed to tell me if that relay is OK. Do you or anyone think that the ignition switch is bad tho the tail lights and turn signal lights come on. nothing else works ???????  One thought is the side stand switch, I know it not let the bike start will it cause no dash lights to be on ??   :dash2:
