Son number 2 just passed his bike licence yesterday and wandered down to the local Yamaha dealer.
He came away with:

Its the Aus only LAMS version - bore reduced from 698 to 655cc and throttle restriction.......... once he is off his LAMS and gets an open licence the sleeves can be replaced, new pistons and restriction removed and its then a full MT07.
Harvy
looks good , invest in some frame sliders now.
I have tried one of those (the non-restricted version)
It is the most fun I have ever had on a bike. Loads of torque from idle and easy power wheelies :dance2:

Knowing how Mark likes to protect his bike during a low side, when he says "frame sliders", he means not just bike mounted. Good protective gear is less expensive than skin grafts and other injuries.

Hell ya , bike parts are expensive so use your boots and knee armor.
