Title: Bonus! Progressive Suspension shock
Post by: giantkiller on September 05, 2016, 09:35:49 AM
I just acquired an 86 basket case/with title. For $100. Just got another box that the guy found. With the rear shock and linkage. It has a fully adjustable, remote reservoir, Progressive Suspension shock. Bonus. Does anyone know about this shock? Didn't  know they made one for the Fj. Is it any good? Guess it's got to be better than a stock shock?

I don't think Progressive Suspension ever made a rear shock for the FJ. It is probably for another bike, but maybe it fits anyway??

That may be. I guess this bike was owned by several of the track workers at Elkhart lake.
I've never delt with Progressive Suspension shocks. Are they any good?

I have a Works shock that came on the 89. It's probably better than the stock one. But it's not great and only has preload adjustment.

I have a ohlins shock for an 86 Fj. That I'm going to use with the R1 swingarm. If I ever get around to putting it on the 1350.

The 86 FJ I am currently selling has a Progressive shock installed.

It does not look cludged up at all and works pretty well. They probably made it at one time, but no longer list it.
