Title: Nice to meet you
Post by: Bender on August 30, 2016, 12:58:18 PM
Good morning from Spain.

My current pileup is a FJ1200 3XW. Previously I owned a FJ1200 3CW. I have traveled with them France, Germany, Begic, the Netherlands and ... Spain. Unfortunately, in Spain there is no FJ1200 club.
I am delighted with the work they do to keep alive among all this great motorcycle.
A greeting to all and thank you for being there.

Welcome to the digital campfire! (thought I'd say it before Monkey does. :))

Plenty of good knowledge here for your reading pleasure. Love to see pics of your rides in Spain!

Well, in Spain you have Alf (http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?action=profile;u=1245).

He is in Tenerife.

He has a very good FJ website as well: http://www.fj1200.info/ (http://www.fj1200.info/)

Hi, David

Well, we have no FJ club registered, but you know that in Spain you pay for everything and have to make a lot of papers... so there is no "official club", with quotes, cups or logo, but we have a whatsupp group with around 30 members to speak about FJs, bikes, sell or buying parts, technical help, whatsoever issue or simply have a laugh and we make an annual meeting. Maybe next month we will make another in Cádiz... we are planning now

If you like contact with me and I will add you to the group. There are various FJ owners living in Madrid too. In fact, even altought I live in Tenerife, my parents & friends live in Madrid and I travel there a lot of times. Even I own a FZ 750 there to ride

(Sorry for write in English, but it is our forum language and I see that you have no problems with)

Yours welcome

Regards

Alf

PD. thanks everybody for recommend my site

Spain did not import the FJ. Never did, as far as I know. The Canary Islands did import the FJ and I think that this was because of punitive tax on the Peninsula.
Canaries had big cars in the 70s and 80s. And big bikes.

Yamaha DID import officially all the FJ models in Mainland Spain, from the 1100 to the last 1200. Opposite, Yamaha only distributed the 1200 1TX and 3CV in Canary island, not the 1100 or the last 1200

The 3CW coded was for the 1200 limited to 100 hp sold in Germany and France
