Title: Suspect a misfire...
Post by: LtPwnzor on August 21, 2016, 08:03:21 AM
So I'm back to my 92 FJ after over a year of being out of the country. I was riding the other day, and as I was pulling into the garage I could swear I heard a sort of "chuff-chuff" from my machine. She's also been very hard on gas, harder than I remember since my departure last Spring. I'm kind of worried.

Sitting for long periods is bad for the carbs. Did you prep the bike before parking it?

The bike has been run regularly (no less than once every few weeks) since I've been gone. I had noticed this developing even before I'd left. During the weeks just before my departure, I had heard and felt it missing when the bike wasn't warm.

Not a lot of information to help you with at this point. Start checking the easy stuff. Plugs, plug wires. Spray WD40 around the carb boots while under idle, possible vacuum leak.  :scratch_one-s_head:

Totally agree duff plugs or an air pipe of some description has rotted (old age) then given up all together. Change the plugs have a good look at all the rubber pipes should be good to go.  If not might be time to look at carbs?
