There is a group here that has formed a 300 club. This is for people that have documented (usually video) they have ridden their bikes at 300 kph or more. Here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwcHChqcXfo) is such a video you might enjoy. This is not a FJ but it is a Yamaha.
We have a member here who was prepping an FJ for a crack at the 200mph/320kph over the mile contest. Not sure if he's succeeded yet, but remember reading about the preparation for it.
My 87 fzr1000. had just about everything you could do to the motor at the time including lightened crank. 194hp rear wheel dyno. Last time I looked at the speedo it was about halfway between 185 and 190mph. And still pulling. I let off right after that. But that was speedo mph.

Planning to give it a go at the Colorado Mile event this year -- 2-4 Sept. I'm a lot happier with it this year going into the Memorial Day weekend with the race bike together and running well before the Labor Day weekend event!
Still need to get it to the dyno to finish up the engine tune and the nitrous tune. Then a couple outings to Bandimere to get a handle on when and how quick to bring in the nitrous and adjust the suspension - not just for the launch but also for the stopping!
This is with the street wheels and brakes - saving the race rubber for the track

I bet that wobble in one of the corners was a real fun! :bad:
I guess I should have watched the video before associating myself with this.
So, I'll throw my comment out there -- if I saw the correct video that guy is a fuckin' clown -- the same type that pisses off everyone else on the road at all the other motorcyclists. The place for that damn sure is not on the street putting the public at risk with your own buffoonery.

Can't blame you there... the guy is a tool. :pardon:
On SuzukiHayabusa.org they keep several land speed oriented lists. This is the standing start 1.0 mile list -- "everyone" (they are pretty thorough about scouring the event results when they are published) that has a documented run at an official event that's 200 mph or better.

Marc Rittner and his "little" 2 cylinder Aprilia are currently #292 on the list.
Bob Shammas (owned the turbo FJ written up on the FJMods website) is #89 on the list -- I'm assuming this was on a turbo Hayabusa he had later

I don't have the chest for it... did you see her? Scroll on down to about #350 or so...
Frank
Nope, I thought you were speaking in reference to the amount of work that had gone into the documentation of the records.
But, I did notice the amount of banner/pop-up ads on that forum. It makes the RPM advertisement at the top of the page almost invisible comparatively.

I just watched the video, that guy is an idiot.

Agreed, I don't want anything to do with the likes of that wanker!
I see you guys got my point. I see idiots like this (maybe not so extreme) almost every day. They pass on curves and at other blind spots. They will pass a line of waiting traffic to be the first at a traffic light. The worst part is the speed. I'll be the first to admit that I sometimes go over the limit but not very much. Like most places we only have plates on the rear of the bike. Almost all speed traps (automated) only take your picture from the front so it is difficult to get caught.
As an example, last week I was riding home on a small curvy 2 lane road. The speed limit is 70kph and I was doing about 80. Out of nowhere came an idiot and passed me. He had to be doing at least 160. This is a road that a lot times has bicycles on it along with tractors and all manner of other things. My self, I prefer slower and enjoy the scenery.
