Title: Does a 92 Rear Master fit an 86?
Post by: jvb_ca on February 21, 2010, 04:18:11 PM
Can anyone confirm that a rear brake master cylinder from a 92ABS will fit an 86? Mostly concerned that the bolt pattern will fit. There is a difference between the foot-peg brackets from the earlier generation, but they only changed part numbers on the masters after they changed the foot-peg brackets. Some times they just change numbers on the same part.

Cheers...Jake

Not sure, but they are listed with different part numbers for the '86 and '92.

However, upon further review, the unit on my '85 looks identical to the unit on my '93.  The only differenence I can detect is the '93 has "Brembo" cast into the body.  I'm pretty sure it will work.  Besides, I think they take the same rebuild kit (but I didn't check those part numbers).

Thanks David.
Yes they have the same rebuild kit part numbers, so the internals are the same. Was more concerned with the bolt pattern.
Hmmm says brembo does it? Maybe they put the trick part on the later model..
Looks like it will probably work.
