I started my love for the FJ1200 in 1989, when I bought one new off the showroom floor. It made me sick getting rid of it a few years later. Now I've acquired a 91 (yes, the pink stripe) with 30K on the odometer. It brings back great memories! I'ts not completely street worthy yet (throttle likes to roll up after holding the RPMs in one place, and the front brakes are SUPER mushy), but front brake mods, and dynojet, exhaust, & K&N goodies are on the list. All in all, it's a good solid ride to restore...well maybe resto-mod. I'll be back to search threads of what works and what doesn't. Thus begins my journey, the second time around.
I would use the uni-pod filters over the k&n. Randy at RPM has them and the go to guy for FJ parts
+1 on the UNI pods, I can show you very dirty UNI filters with still clean carb throats. The K&N breathe so well they let in fine particles. The UNIs actually filter.

Yes, the infamous Pink Stripe model.. :ireful: That's what I've been workin on too. Love it, although I have plans to rid myself of the pink..See how it turns out. Start diggin through this site you'll find all you need.
