Title: Brake Rotor Minimum Thickness(es)?
Post by: Steve_in_Florida on April 11, 2016, 03:58:44 PM

Anyone know the minimum brake rotor thicknesses for our bikes, off the top of their head?

Don't happen to have my shop manual here at work.

If it matters, I'm curious about the `92 ABS specs, but it'd be nice to have the others, if they're different.

TIA!

Steve

The Yamaha manual says 7mm(0.8in). Don't know if its different for the ABS models.   Dave

FJ1200 ABS brake rotor following original manual and Haynes and my FJ:
thickness: 5mm
minimum: 4,5mm

I never heard about brake disc 7mm thick..... maybe for some older models....

The 7 mm is for the vented rotors.
