Just got a Shift Detent Kit from RPM.
Everyone seems to suggest that you need to remove the clutch basket to install this.
However, looking at e.g. this picture:

Can't you just undo the bolt that holds the detent arm and replace it together with the spring?
Maybe it will be obvious when I take it apart, why I have to remove the clutch....
Nevermind....... I had everything reversed in my head (happens a lot...) :dash2: :dash2: :dash2: :dash2:
Yup,
It's behind the clutch basket. You can't get to it without pulling the clutch.

I think you might be able to get at the bolt with a box-end wrench if you pull the lower fairing, the exhaust, and the oil pan off the engine.
But pulling the clutch is much easier, and you don't really have to drain the oil, if the bike is tipped over far enough on the side-stand.
A magnet on a stick is advised to have at hand. For when you drop the bolt into the murky dark depths of the oil pan and you need to fish it back out.

+1 on this. The sump is a lot deeper that you think it should be. I found this mod makes a huge difference to shifting. I have had no slippage since doing it.

Thank you all
