Hi there guys,
i am in the home-stretch of the complete renewal work of my '1986 1TX (UK model), and i need to get some infos about the painting. My FJ is a RED-WHITE-BLUE one, and i had to scrap down the lower cover because of several evil cracks. So i bought a new one but that is is fully black. I cannot find any images of this kind of FJ colour, only one brossure picture, but its a little bit short info for my painter buddy. I mean i need the dimensions and the placing of the stripes on the lower cover...
So can anyone show me soe pics of this paint scheme of the FJ 1200 ? See pic below.
Thanx, Vilike :good2:
Not much better, but here is one. Seems to be a rare color combo.

If you just need placement of the graphics, you could go by the red/white one:

Thanx a lot 4everFJ !
Well, there is no other answer so i have to figure out the placing by myself. Thanks again !
The dimensions seem the same as the (common as flies Red and White) , just different colors, I hope this image helps. I can take more photos if that helps your painter. I really like that color combination as it is quite rare and not seen here in the States.

No, its quite simple. For either color combo, if you look at the pics you'll see that the lower edge of the "separating wedge of color" runs from the point of the chin fairing towards the lower edge of the chrome crank cover. The upper edge of the "separating wedge of color" runs to the upper edge of that same crank cover.
Should be very easy to mask this out.
And, if you're slighty out, no one will be able to pick it anyhow.
"separating wedge of color" is RED on your blue/white bike, and BLACK on the red/white bikes.
G'day Vilike, send an email to the boys at the link below. They may be able to change the colour of their decals to suit your bike.
Worth a shot. Regards, Pete.

I thank you all guys, all your answers were really helpful !
One of my interests makes the decals so there will be only blue painting.
I will make a photo-post when its ready.
Thanx again !

I came across this set of graphics. I know they are for an 1100, but the red stripes, the blue and white 'Yamaha' decals should work.

Vilike, you might want to PM member Jeff0308. He was producing FJ decals a while back, - I'm not sure if he's still at it. I got some from him for my lower fairing and they were perfect and stick like glue.
