Title: Adjustable needle question/help
Post by: Paul1965 on December 13, 2015, 02:41:42 PM
I'm rebuilding the carbs I got last month and am using the rebuild kits from RPM. I'm ready to replace the needles but don't know if I'm supposed to reuse the nylon spacer that was on the old one or toss it in the spare parts bag. The old need is on the bottom, the new one on the top. Which way do I set the new ones up? There's also a small o-ring that came with the RPM kits that I don't know what to do with. I assumed there would have been an exploded view included with the parts kit but there wasn't.

Yes, you must reuse the nylon spacer.
Match the clip position on the adjustable needles with where the clip is on the stock needle.
Typically the middle groove matches the stock clip position, but check to be sure.

Thanks Pat. However I'm not taking out stock needles so I wasn't sure what groove to start with (these carbs were built for a Baby Grand). I will start in the middle though and see what happens next spring
