Title: Hallo Fj riders
Post by: Knuckles on February 02, 2010, 11:07:01 AM
I'm new to the forum and am from South Africa.
Mine FJ is a Japanese domestic model 1991 with the engine numbers starting 4CC. Exhaust system is a Cowley 4in1
Some mods, like an Ohlins rear shock. Billit top tripple clamp and the levers and hydraulic reservoirs from an XJR
Rear swingarm is from a Thunderace and I run a 180x55x17 rear tyre.

Knuckles,

Welcome to the group.
One thing you might want to check on your FJ.  I believe the Jap domestic bikes came with restricted inlet manifolds.  This would probably cost you a few hp if it is the case on your bike.
Easy enough to check the next time you pull the carbs.

IIRC some of them also made their way to NZ.

Cheers,
Arnie

Hey Arnie, U R so right about the inlet tubes. Those are the only things remaining from the restriction. The speedo is only marked to 190km/h and she runs up to the K in the Km/h. My guestimate is around 235 to 240.

Kaalkoejawel, I am based in Krugersdorp Gauteng so we are a leetle bit far apart.
