I went out the the Oily Rag Garage this morning to complete the work on my latest project bike (rebuild of my Step sons BMX) to find a sight that would make your hair stand on end.
I found the brake fluid had been leaking from my clutch MC for the last few days. I had the lid off it last week the bleed the clutch after installing a new RPM detent spring. (After the install the clutch felt too light, so i bleed that sucker, and it came good).
So to cut a long story short, it looks like i will be getting a respray done on my fairing (I was planning to anyway to repair the gravel rash from my off early this year) Not even 12 months since she the FJ hit the road and here i am getting a respray organised. :dash2:

Ah crap mate! :empathy3:
DOT5....
Hence my post about finding an alternative to DOT3/4 brake fluid. Sorry for your troubles...
Brake fluid is really good to paint on your rims to make the edges nice and shiny. :good2: Not so good on tanks and fairings though. :dash2:
I got this pic of unintentional results of bleeding a master cyl. It appears that he doesn't have the little deflector on the floor of the reservoir. It also appears that he neglected to cover the thing up before pumping same. Love that DOT 3.

That will take a little time to polish out....
