Title: Question about handle bars
Post by: Vilike on November 21, 2015, 08:20:17 AM
Hi guys,

my '86-er 1TX is almost ready to run after a 10 months maintenace. Repainting the frame, all covers (stock pattern !)
tank,  exhaust, etc...

So i decided to change the handle bars too. I see the two stock bars could be changed with each other, so are those two bars fit at the front cover if i turn the steering ? Or they are cought in the cover ?

Vilike,

You can buy a handlebar adapter kit for the FJ that works with many handlebars.

I do not understand what you ask, in the second part.

Thanx Red.

I mean i want to put the left bar to the right side and then the right bar to the left. Just fits, i tried. So the bar would be more straight and tourer-like. But does it fit by the fairing cover when turning ?

No, it will limit range of movement ..
Try some handlebar risers instead. Or go with a handlebar kit.

Vilike,

There are a number of handlebar risers and adapters for the FJ.  Do some searching on the Internet, and with your local bike clubs to see what is available.  Your search will give you good ideas for your custom-made bike parts.
