Yamaha keeps going naked.

Looks like what Suzuki tried with the "B King" a while back. I like the look of the MT-10 should be interesting to see the reviews. Thanks for the link.
The hooligan model. Maybe we will see a new 4 cylinder FJ yet. :wacko2:
I'm sure it's a technically advanced motorcycle and at ~$12k a good value.
Too bad it's soooo ugly. :bad:
I still think our FJ's are one of the most beautiful bikes made.
With the scoops and all I can see a classic, stylized FJ fairing (ala new Mustang, Camaro, Challenger) grafted on......but maybe us old farts are just nostalgic....

It looks like a pist off transformer! I do think the motor area of the bike looks modern and tough but the rest of it like all the others just looks the same to me, just like all todays cars, same old same old, but just imagine rolling on that thing through all the gears.... :good:
I thought it was interesting that Yamaha put electronic speed control on the MT-10. I wonder if it was because of the complaints for not putting it on the FJ-09.
Kurt
I kind of like it.

But,... All that technology and they still can't put a temperature guage on it that actually tells you something. :unknown:

Having said that, I'd prefer an FJ-01 also.
Here's the side view, that shows the fairing hung out way forward (like the Triumph Street, etc) that bugs me.

Here's a walkaround: http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news-new-bikes/video-yamaha-mt-10-walk-around/28496.html (http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news-new-bikes/video-yamaha-mt-10-walk-around/28496.html)
Look at the comments on the bottom
^^^ Yep.
Here's one of those comments, that pretty much is the real deal on these kinds of things...
"However style is very much a personal thing. One man's style is another man's WTF."
Nuff said.
LOL. Put me in the WTF column.
This is a very different style. The front was designed by the younger generation watching to many transformer movies and cartoons. That stupid arrangement sticking out back for the license plate and turn signals bugs me. It must bug a lot of other people too as it is the same on the FJ09 and one of the most popular mods on the FJ09 is getting rid of it by putting it up under the seat where it should have been to start with. Yamaha does know how to design good looking nakeds with their xj bikes unfortunately they don't offer them in the US. Dave
This is the likely target...hooligan beast

I have friends that are into that look - Ducati Dave seems to like his modded Fazer and his "oddball Yamaha project bike to be named later" and my college friend Todd says his motorcycle experience reached its apex with a Speed Triple.
Me, I see that thing and wonder "wouldn't it work a lot better at speed, and look better all the time, with at least a little bit of a fairing?"
I don't like it, I think it's ugly. I'm glad I can't afford to buy one.
I agree with the B-King comment. Looks like Yamaha's version of it. Will hopefully suffer the same fate.
What do you really do with a totally naked bike? Can't ride for an extended time down the highway (not that that's a desirable thing to do on any bike). My 1st gen FZ1 is bad enough on extended rides and it has quite a bit of fairing. The FJ is just about the perfect combination of naked and fairing with good wind protection.
I have a friend with a Honda CB 1000R. It has no wind screen or fairing and he loves everything about it except for the windblast. He's currently looking for a different bike.
What would you do with this MT-10?
