Title: Fuel tank clean out?
Post by: markmartin on November 16, 2015, 10:32:44 PM
I need to have the fuel filter bracket re brazed or mig welded at the bottom of my fuel tank as it's been seeping fuel for quite some time.  Question: Is there a proper way to  wash my tank out so when I bring it to the weld shop it will be safe to work on. ??

Well, a lit match will make sure the flammables are out of the way... Just stand back when you drop it in.... :sarcastic:

Mine was washed out with hot water and Dawn dish soap, rinsed, then refilled with water before brazing.

Nobody was killed or nothin.  :nea:

That would definitely take care of any residue and rust concerns!
