Even though we got quite a bit of rain this year, I was still lucky enough to put on just over 10,000 miles since buying it in April. While I will ride as long as I can, the temps are getting colder (I rode to work Monday and it was a bit chilly at 37°) and soon enough the white stuff will be falling and it will be time to put the FJ up for the winter. So I'm just curious, how many miles did you get in this year?
5333 miles since I got my '89 in late March. I was down all last month with maintenance and ABS welding. The new LEDs in the cluster are fantastic....
Approximately 875... a little over 700 of that at the ECFR. :sorry:
I am showing 2187 over the last year. About half of what I averaged the previous 2 years.
I have ridden the FJ EVERYDAY over the last 60 days........ :yahoo:
Fred
Just about 10,500 km (close to 6300 miles) this year for me. All on PR4s which were installed in the spring - I'm getting excellent life out them. Hope the good weather holds a bit longer.

I am interested in the life you get on the PR4s and what they look like when you chose to change them (front and rear). As well as the riding style you put on them, twisty, highway, 50/50 blend etc...
Was riding at least back and forth to work everyday this year after buying it in the spring.
Season was cut short for me when my back went out.
All I do now is hobble out to the garage to check on the battery charger and stare at it now and then.
:(
8,000 kilometers on the FJ and 6,000 miles on the GTS. 1,000 kilometers on the FZR 1000. It was a good summer for motorcycle riding. Six road trips in one year. Awesome.
If it weren't for the 2,400 plus miles I put on the clock riding to, riding around at, and riding back home from this year's Central Rally in South Dakota, it would have been even a more dismal year for miles put on the FJ(s). Might have put on an additional 1,500 miles since then, but I'm not going to the bother to tally up the odometers.
There's always next year.

Yes, you are so right.
Signed up for this http://www.mnswanride.com/ (http://www.mnswanride.com/) after posting my mileage this morning. Will be putting an extra 200 miles on a FJ before I call it a season.
Supposed to be 58F on Sunday. Not bad for November 1st. At least in these parts.

Amen.... Rust never sleeps.
7,200 for me so far...and the year's not over yet (gotta love SoCal) I expect around 9k before the year's end.
Riding to the WCR, then riding back to the Central Rally and then fall Renegade Rally are the bright spots in this year's adventures.
I do plan another trip up to Oakdale this year so Randy can work some more voodoo magic on my bike.
I want to hear from Mike Ramos.....are we taking any bets? Over/Under? I pledge a jelly donut to whoever is closest. My guess would be 24k

23K, I think he is slowing down on miles... But he does ride like the wind...
My frequent travels for work have only allowed me roughly 1500 KM's :nea:
Have not even had the time to do the maintenance/mods I wanted to
Really hope for some more riding next year though
Magnus
I did astonishing 700 miles.......
For my defence I could just tell that I did front wheel and FZ1 rear swingarm and wheel mod - and that was time consuming......
Good evening Mr. C,
Well, I do not keep very accurate mileage logs, however I do have an invoice from the rear shock service dated April 20 of this year - almost exactly six months ago - that notes the mileage that time of 70,200. The odometer at present reads 95,350 for a six month total of 25,150 miles.
For the year (November to November) total, I believe it was last November when I rode to Texas, up through the Rockies and into Idaho and then to central California before heading home - perhaps another 7,000 miles or so.
There would also be the Idaho ride (of which I wrote and posted), a visit to San Diego, went to Oregon as well... plus miscellaneous rides around far northern California.
So an estimate of 36,000 is perhaps reasonable.
All in good fun... :good2: :good2:!
Ride safe,
Midget
Just checked my service records on the computer and am now holding my head in shame. 12 month nearly to the day since my last oil change and I've only done 3217km, and that's with riding the bike to work every day.
This weekend I'll put a few hundred on it, but I really should get out more, we have the weather for it.
Thanks Michael. :good:
You are amazing.

Wow , that's why Ramos is " the road warrior "
Great guy as well and rides like the wind. :drinks:

I was able to get 280 more miles in today, but I'm about 99% sure that's it for me this year.
8,194 on my FJ plus 7,020 on my Honda CBF 250. The FJ won't do much more this year but the CBF is used year round.
I rode my usual and amazingly consistent mileage again this year.
Zero, Zip, Nada....
I can honestly state that in the 12 years I have been a member of this group I have never ridden a single mile on 'my' FJ. Even less before that.
Call me the anti-mike.

Okay, so what were your accumulated miles for this season (thus far), on your nonconformist iron steed(s)?
Fellow nonconformist who did about 18,000 (so far) this year.

Sadly not many.
I really do not enjoy riding on the street as much as I did in the past and over the past few years my riding has been almost exclusively at the rallies. By a quick estimate I rode around 1300 miles at the fall rally this year and maybe another 200 miles around town. I was however able to wear out a new set of Dunlop Q3's (both front and rear) in those measly 1500 miles. :wacko1:
Quality beats quantity every time.
The SV1000S I am riding these days if reasonably comfortable, handles OK, and has a fun motor. I may do a few mods over the winter to smooth it out a bit and get a bit more comfortable just to see if I can get the old interest in riding back, but if all I do is attend rallies, I am OK with that. It only takes a few miles to sharpen the old skills back up anyway.

I know what you mean about the interest. It ebbs and flows with me. I always come back to it though.
To get the quality, I have to do the quantity first. Any decent riding roads are a good bit of miles from home base for me. If you live in Northern Kentucky, I would think that good roads are at your doorstep. Good for you.

18,000, that's good for any nonconforming rider, or conforming rider, for that matter!
Gentlemen,
The desire for a good ride does not wax and wane yet remains constant, nor is the enjoyment & pleasure of a good ride lessoned; thus quantity and quality are not mutually exclusive and neither is the quality of the quantity lacking [and in fact almost never-ending on both points] as the panorama is constantly in flux...
Such is the good fortune to live & ride in the Western States and in particular the foothills of far Northern California.
Ride safe,
Midget.
So busy with working away from home this year that I did not even start my FJ. Sad state of affairs for sure. Big R :dash2: :dash2:
I have ridden almost 8,000 miles this year so far. This is a less that I was hopping for, my goal was over 10,000. As it stands now I may be able to get to 9,000. It could have been more but with towing to the the bike to 2 rallies, instead of ridding makes it hard to get the miles in. Good news is my wife likes going to the rallies. Loves the fellow members and is all ready for next year. For her to come along, towing the bike is a small price to pay and she gets great pictures from the back seat. Thank you for the idea Donna.
I almost forgot there have also been several dirt bike excursions, millage unknown. With more in the planning stages. These are FJ miles though.
Kurt
Well it's November the 4th , and it was 20 degrees in southern Ontario, so I had to take the FJ for a rip. Added another 285 k to the odometer.
You metric guys... always making the temps seem colder and the distance longer....
Just over 3000 and still riding...no trips, no ralleys this year, just going to work and "long way home routes". The weather has been good to us this year, today was over 70 degrees but it's about to change on us "Cheese heads". Charley.

Well, since the weather was unseasonably warm this week, and stuff, I decided to go riding. Total trip miles: 1058, Wednesday 459, Thursday, 599.
So, call it around 2000 miles for the season.
