I have most of Randy's mods on my 84FJ--Fork brace, springs, valves, EBC brake pads, oil cooler, shock, bars and new petcock, clutch slave and fork seals. I still have the original brake and clutch hoses and they still work great. No cracks, leaks or bulges. If I change fluids once a year they should be good for another 31 years! :biggrin: Dave

Most riders who change to braided steel brake lines report a much more positive response to braking actions, which tells me that their old brake lines were bulging to some degree, even if they did not fail yet. Any decent hydraulic shop can duplicate your old brake lines with new braided brake lines. They can use a new-type banjo end that pivots, so there will be no "twist" in the line. Most shops can even do custom colors, if you like. The costs may be less than the mail-order places, and service may be faster, too.
This would be a good time to bypass the anti-dive units, if you have not done so yet. The AD units really don't do much, if anything. Bleeding the front brakes will be much better without them. Take things easy for a while, though; it takes time to re-educate that brake hand to handle the better braking that you will have.
