Risers from RPM arrived quickly, thank you!
As expected, exceptional quality, I'm happy.
Installation took minutes, far too easy.
Then I noticed, it looks like my fork tubes are not the same height -
How far down into the handlebar clamp does your cap go? Seems like the O-ring should be all the way in.
Looks like this will turn into another one of those simple quick mods that heads off down a rabbit trail.......
For now, I'll leave it be.
Already lost one of the black allen head covers, it fell into some special cavity......
Can't wait to test them out!

The forks have needed attention anyway, just need to make some time -
I'll knock it all out at once.
Best to pull the fairing, just to make the job easier -
Maybe check the valves at the same time - change the plugs......

I have a question for anyone that has the risers on a 3XW. Do you have any issues with hand clearance to the windscreen supports at full lock? My fingers already rub against the fairing at full lock parking lot maneuvers, I would love to have a set of the risers, but have my doubts that I would have enough space for them.

While my forks are off the bike, I painted the RPM Riser Caps.
Baked them in the oven, yes, yes I did.
The wife never needs to know.
Found the sliders to be worn enough to warrant replacement.
No riding this weekend, I'm good with that.
Earlier, I went to a local shop and borrowed their wheel balancer.
It's one of those fancy computer operated machines - It took a few moments, but I remembered how to work it.
Adjust for the distance from the base, add the wheel size and width, spin it and wait.
18 grams out of balance, that explains my front wheel wobble at certain speeds.
I removed the old weights, and cleaned the rims with some aerosol solvent to remove the old adhesive.
Spin it and wait - 32 grams off, I was hoping it would be less, oh well.
I take a couple of weights, carefully cut them to size, and again clean the rim really well where the weights needed to go.
And it took a while, the solvent evaporated quickly, I had to use a lot.
Put the weights on - and they fell off before I could even spin the wheel.
I heard the tech chuckling to himself, blatantly so, when he heard them hit the ground.
Always fun, impressing the guys at the shop.
Some more rags, clean ones, and some more solvent, I got that section of the rim as clean as clean could be.
I rechecked the location of the weights, stuck them on a second time -
And they fell off again!
What the -
I look over, there is the can of carb cleaner, wait - that's next to the can I was using.
Reading the label of what I was using -
"Silicone Lubricant"

I'm sure they add 5 or 6 horsepower......

My left hand just touches the fairing on full lock but it's not unsettling in anyway, I just move my hand on the grip outwards a bit to clear it. The right side has plenty of clearance, not sure why it's like that, the fairing is mounted correctly, nothing's bent anywhere so must be a manufacturing glitch somewhere.
Thanks, Bones. It was my left hand that more noticeably hit the fairing, as well. I think the risers will be my first change on this new bike.

Yes, good point.
My bike is a 1990. Installed RPM risers yesterday and initially at least they feel great. :good2:. Quick install with no problems. I can go lock to lock with no fairing interference. Planning on a 300 mile run this Sunday and that will be more of a test.

I've also experienced no clearance issues -
Here they are painted and installation complete.
Re-balanced front wheel is much better, still some shake, but nothing like before. Forks work fine, can't tell any huge difference. Trying to dial in the rear wheel adjustment - the marks seem off, getting closer....
Just need to check the torque on everything again, took a short hours ride after assembly - then maybe tomorrow, a nice long ride.
Oh - I probably need to lower the forks a tad, I screwed that up, as some of you sharp eyed folks will see -

Adjusted the fork height this morning.
I'm in the middle of trying to move, so I am half living out of the garage - soon to be all living out of the garage, and I thinking this is a good thing.
Here are the latest, greatest pictures of my install.
No clearance issues at all, almost like this is how it was supposed to be all along.

Got my risers from RPM this week, I can't wait to get home, get them bolted on and give them a try. I didn't mind the bars where they are on the 3CV, I got enough wind on my head and chest to be comfortable but on the 3XW I don't get enough wind pressure on my torso to get comfortable.

Went for about 300 miles last week end with the new risers. They work good for me. On the 1990 with a MRA touring screen the wind/turbulence just faintly starts below my chin and hit's my chest. My head felt no turbulence with the HJC helmet. Very comfortable. Lots of variables.
