Title: oil leak from ignition pick up cover

I am new to the FJ world!!! i have a 1984 FJ1100 and i have a new leak dripping from the ignition pickup cover. any ideas on where it may be coming from?

Might, or probably, is the crank seal that's behind the pickup's plate. Pull the plate to confirm. I know that someone in the past here, was able to replace this seal without too much difficulty. Try a search using (without quotation marks) "crank seal fjowners.com" using the Google search engine to maybe find the thread. You may need a different descriptor other than "crank seal" to find the thread. Or maybe someone else will step up to the plate, and offer up their procedure to replace said seal.
