Title: What's It?
Post by: AppleJack on August 11, 2015, 02:20:53 PM
Can someone ID this little piece of plastic ('85 FJ1100)?  I was pulling the cover for the air filter and this landed on my lap.  No idea where it came from or what it does...Thanks

That is the wedge that holds the air filter in place, there should be two of them.

You are supposed to pinch the air filter with that one and another one that probably stayed in place (that happened to me). You will see 2 grooves in the air box where those 2 are supposed to go.

If you intend to keep your air box. DO NOT lose/misplace the wedges. From what I have seen on parts sites, they can not be ordered and are nearly impossible to find.

If someone will loan me a set of those things, I'll make up a batch.  Neither of my FJ's came with those; just an air filter rattling around loose inside the airbox...   :dash2:
